A Personalized Approach to Lens Fitting

At Brantford Eye Care, we offer contact lenses of all types, for people with a variety of prescriptions and needs. If you’ve ever been told that you can’t wear contacts or have “hard-to-fit” eyes, don’t worry. Our experienced team will assess your eyes and recommend solutions.

Contact lenses are not one-size-fits-all. They are medical devices that require a prescription and a proper fitting to ensure your comfort. We treat all our patients as individuals, and we’ll get to know your lifestyle needs, your reasons for wanting lenses, and your unique eyes, in order to fit you with the perfect pair.

Clear, crisp vision can be yours, without the glasses. Book your appointment for a contact lens fitting today!

Why Contact Lenses?

If you wear glasses, there’s a good chance you’ve considered contact lenses. Maybe you want to hit the gym without frames slipping down your nose while you sweat. Perhaps you want to take a boxing class or play a contact sport without worrying about the impact on your eyewear—literally!

Maybe your reasons for wanting a glasses-free look are fashion-related. Impressive eye makeup or eyelash extensions really shine when there are no frames to obscure your accoutrements.

Contact lenses are another option available to anyone in need of vision correction. They offer a solution to those who feel restricted by eyeglasses while also providing an alternative to corrective surgery such as LASIK.

Many people prefer the full, unobstructed view they provide as opposed to eyeglasses. Whatever your reasoning for exploring contact lenses, we can help. Book your contact lens fitting today!

Contact Lens Categories

There are many kinds of contacts that can be categorized as follows:

Materials: Contact lenses come in soft and rigid gas permeable varieties.

Length of Wear: Daily and extended wear lenses are available.

Frequency of Disposal: Disposable, daily disposable, frequent replacement, or traditional styles of contact lenses suit a variety of lifestyles.

Lens Design: Depending on your prescription, you may require spherical, bifocal, or toric lenses.Additional Features: Some lenses are designed to change or augment your eye colour, or are specifically designed for people with dry eye disease.

A Few of Our Specialty Lens Offerings

To give you the best vision possible with contact lenses, we will discuss your lifestyle needs and assess your ocular health. We may recommend one of the following lens types, based on a comprehensive eye exam:

Cardinal Rigid Gas Permeable Lenses

For people with astigmatism or mild keratoconus, we offer Cardinal rigid gas permeable lenses.

There is no cure for myopia, but it can be controlled. MiSight lenses by CooperVision correct myopia, while slowing its progression.

For more information, visit our Myopia Control page.

Presbyopia, an age-related refractive error, used to make contact lens wear impossible. Now advancements in technology allow for multifocal lenses to help patients with presbyopia see well at multiple distances.

Just as eyeglasses can contain bifocals or multifocals, we offer contact lenses that have several powers per lens. Multifocals make it easy for anyone to access the convenience of contact lenses.

For patients with corneal, lens, or iris irregularities, prosthetic lenses are available. Ocular scarring or cosmetic imbalances can be corrected, providing you with a boost of confidence—and clear sight.

Coloured contact lenses are fun choices for anyone wanting to experiment with their eye colour. These lenses can either change or enhance your existing colour. But, contact lenses are medical devices, and it’s important to get a proper fitting and prescription before wearing them.

That’s why we offer coloured contact lenses by Air Optix. We will ensure you’re getting the look you want—safely!
