Dr. Lisa Berthin - Brantford Optometrist
"I am very excited to be a new member of the Brantford Eye Care team! I personally received my first pair of glasses at the young age of eight, and vividly remember the huge difference it made in my life to be able to see clearly again. Since then I have wanted to be a part of this profession, where I feel that it is in my abilities to make a similar impact in the lives of others. I also enjoy meeting new people and hearing the unique stories each person has to tell.
I attended the University of Waterloo and received my Bachelor of Sciences degree in Biomedical Sciences in 2011. I continued my studies at Waterloo for another four years to receive my Doctor of Optometry degree in 2015. I received the Monaghan Memorial Scholarship in 2011 and graduated from Optometry school on the Dean’s Honours List. I completed my externship at a multispecialty practice in Pinellas Park, Florida where I observed cataract surgeries, macular degeneration treatments, and gained experience in managing patients with glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy.
I very much love to sing and was actively involved in the Waterloo A Cappella Club during my time at school, where I had the amazing opportunity to compete internationally in collegiate a cappella competitions. In addition to singing, I love traveling, photography, and occasionally bouldering."
